Do you have a leak?<\/h1>\n

You may have a plumbing leak if…<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. You can hear the continuous sound of water when nothing is turned on.<\/li>\n
  2. Your water bill escalates irregularly over a period of weeks or months. (Compare your bills month to month.)<\/li>\n
  3. Your walls or floors are wet, spongy, moist or ,if the leak has been going on for long enough, discoloured areas when nothing has been spilled.<\/li>\n
  4. You can smell foul odors coming from floors or walls near drains or sewers.<\/li>\n
  5. Your building foundation cracks, vegetation grows unevenly, or earth shifts for no apparent reason.<\/li>\n
  6. You find warm spots on your floor, particularly on concrete slab floors.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    <\/p>\n

    You may have a pool\/jacuzzi leak if…<\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. You lose 1\/8″ of water or more in 24 hours. Perform a Bucket Test. Evaporation rates vary per area.<\/li>\n
    2. You find algae forming too soon after a chemical treatment.<\/li>\n
    3. You find loose or falling tiles or pool deck cracks
      \n(All are signs that the surrounding ground is being compromised by water.)<\/li>\n
    4. Your pool\/spa has settled into the ground or cracks and gaps appear in the pool shell or concrete deck.<\/li>\n
    5. You find standing water, mushy spots, or uneven grass growth around the pool\/jacuzzi area.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The Bucket Test for Pool\/Jacuzzi Leaks<\/h1>\n

      You may have a pool\/jacuzzi leak if…<\/h1>\n

      In the heat of the summer your pool can seem to lose water faster than usual. The bucket test helps determine if the unusual rate of water loss is\u00a0 due to a high evaporation rate or a possible leak. Use the following steps to determine if your pool is leaking.<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Bring pool water to normal level.<\/li>\n
      2. Fill a large bucket with pool water about 3-4 inches from top.<\/li>\n
      3. Place bucket on first or second step of pool (preferably the second step without immersing it).<\/li>\n
      4. With marker or electrical tape, mark the water level on inside of bucket.<\/li>\n
      5. Shut off pump and mark pool level on outside of bucket.<\/li>\n
      6. Resume normal pump operation. Make sure auto\/manual fill valve is off during test.<\/li>\n
      7. After 24 hours, compare the two levels. If the pool water (outside mark) goes down more than the inside water level, there may be a leak.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
